Copenhagen Weekend

Copenhagen is a pleasant, refreshing, and yet bustling city that is made up of several districts that each present their own charm allowing those who choose to weekend in Copenhagen to experience several different holiday experiences all in one stay.  Full of bicycle paths, winding water, parks, nightclubs, free concerts, amusement parks, and castles there is a little bit of everything for anyone who visits.

While in Copenhagen for the weekend you will want to stop by the Tivoli Gardens, which is one of the oldest amusement parks still operating anywhere in the world and is actually the inspiration for the large Disneyland park system.  If you are lucky you will even arrive during a weekend when there are free concerts which take place on a regular basis throughout the summer months.

Make sure to check out some of the history of Copenhagen while in town also such as The Little Mermaid statue which is the landmark of the city or the Kronberg Castle, which is the location where Hamlet by Shakespeare was set.

Finally, take a minute at some point to wonder down Stroget Street, which  is the largest pedestrian only street in the world and is packed full of everything from local boutiques to budget shops to high end shops.
